The correlated dynamics of laser-driven few-particle systems will be investigated. We will focus primarily on atoms and small molecules in intense laser fields. While in atoms electron-electron correlation effects will be analyzed by comparison of various approaches, the main concern in laser-molecule interactions will be the non-Born-Oppenheimer description of quantum nuclear dynamics and electron-core entanglement. The project aims at providing insight into the general problem of how driven few- and many-particle systems may be accessed by theoretical methods beyond single-active-particle and mean-field descriptions.
