Research conducted during the first funding period on inner-textual reflections on the material condition of writing will be continued. Building on two central pillars of our previous investigation " the empiricism of the commented thesaurus locorum and of the theoretical conceptional achievement " the project will focus on a basic text of Augustan literature, Vergils Aeneis, with special attention to its specific way of dealing with materiality and the presence of writing as signs.
