Within the SFB, the Research Training Group (MGK) provides adequate research training activities to the doctoral researchers, launches interdisciplinary networking activities and hosts scientific guests of the SFB. A summer school has been organised which has also provided a forum for two of the three working groups of our SFB and attracted a large number of participants. In addition, the independence of the doctoral researchers is promoted by encouraging them to organise their own scientific workshops, to exchange ideas on scientific collaborations directly with their colleagues, and by election of three spokes-persons who acted as links to the Steering Committee and the principal investigators of the SFB.
