Gender-specific Patterns of Opportunity in Employment (A03)
Subject Area
Empirical Social Research
Term
from 2011 to 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 138713964
The core of project A3 is analyzing gender as an important heterogeneity characteristic whose significance for inequalities in the labour market can only be well understood if seen compared to and linked with (i) other heterogeneity characteristics, (ii) contextual influences at various levels, and (iii) the mutually reinforcing processes at these different levels across the life course. Hence, the research concentrates on the role of cumulative (dis)advantages in key life domains during the career choice process and subsequent career process in Germany. The project applies longitudinal analyses based on panel data from the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) and the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS).
