Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 138713964
A2 examines the emergence of deviant and delinquent behavior using a longitudinal cohort-sequential design. The study conducted as part of the project focuses on the reciprocal relationship between the development of such behavior and mechanisms that lead to social inequalities, name-ly inclusion/exclusion and opportunity hoarding as variants of social closure. The aim of the project is to identify the mechanisms that promote early desistance from deviance and delinquency, as well as those that promote long-term persistence and/or late desistance. Different trajectories of deviance and delinquency can themselves serve as a type of heterogeneity which can explain pro-cesses of social inclusion and exclusion.
