Project Details
Nonlinear spectroscopy of ultrafast electronic correlations in molecular and crystalline spin systems (A04)
Subject Area
Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term
from 2011 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 170620586
Photoexcited states of ring-shaped transition-metal complexes are superb candidates to understand emergent electronic and spin correlations in a bottom-up approach, as envisaged in this project. Such transient conjugated many-electron states carry dynamical information about fundamental emergent states of matter, which we shall study using ultrafast nonlinear spectroscopy from the mid-infrared to the X-ray spectral range. Project A4 links directly to projects A1, A2, A3 and A7 (ultrafast time scales), to B2, B3, B5, B7 and B9 (emergent dynamical states), and to C7 (ring-shaped hexagonal atom traps).
