Project Details
Characterization of gibberellin-regulated gene expression networks during abiotic stress response (A01)
Subject Area
Plant Cell and Developmental Biology
Term
from 2011 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 170483403
Many crop plants carry dwarfing alleles of the so-called DELLA regulators of the gibberellin phytohormone pathway. Gibberellins can inactivate the DELLA growth repressors and this mechanism is best known for its role in the control of germination, elongation growth and flowering time. DELLAs, however, also control plant responses to abiotic stress such as salt and temperature stress. We want to find out the molecular role of DELLA signalling in these responses through comparative transcriptomics and analyse the role of specific regulators in transgenic tomatoes.
