Project C8 investigates Fe-Mn-Al-C gamma-kappa steels by atom probe tomography (APT) and correlative electron microscopy / APT and will characterize phase fractions, partitioning phenomena, grain boundary segregation, the influence of coherency stresses on composition, the deformation-induced mixing during shearing of the kappa phase and the binding sites of hydrogen.
