Object and purpose of the tissue bank for inflammatory disease (GEZEH) is to collect, characterize, archive and process tissues and tissue extracts in high quality for scientific investigations in the context of inflammation research. Accreditation according to DIN standard by the German Accreditation Institution GmbH (DAKKS) is planned for the first half of 2014. Furthermore, GEZEH established a working group for the characterization of organ/microenvironment specific myeloid cells, which provides a further platform technology to all working groups of the CRC 938. For the second funding period, we will continue the successful cooperations among projects inside and outside of the CRC, a continuation of the Working Group on myeloid cells not only in vitro but also in situ. Finally we shall maintain the accreditation and integration of new tissue samples and/or projects.
