The training network ('Modul Graduiertenkolleg’, MGK) provides a platform for high-level structured training on epigenetics and chromatin biology accompanied by a career development programme. The daily research activities of the PhD students are complemented by several modules including lectures, seminars, courses, workshops, exchange visits and retreats. These modules are attended by both German and Dutch PhD students thereby maximising international exchange. Thesis committees monitor the research and training and give advise to students on a regular basis. Our goal is that the combination of individual training, mentoring, promotion of independence and internationality provides the MGK with a unique profile that makes the TRR attractive for excellent PhD students.
