Project Details
Polarization Determination of Integrated Piezoceramics as Part of Process Control and Non-destructive Device Evaluation (C08)
Subject Area
Metal-Cutting and Abrasive Manufacturing Engineering
Term
from 2010 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 21440441
During the last project period we developed a measurement procedure to evaluate non-destructively the polarization state of modules with integrated piezoceramic modules. It is based on the laser intensity modulation method (LIMM). However, when the piezo modules are embedded in materials with very large heat conduction (e. g. in metals), this method causes serious problems. In the new period, pulsed lasers will be used to increase the incident radiation power enabling much higher measurement signals. Such a heat pulse method needs completely novel signal analysis algorithms to be developed.
