Wave function mapping on graphene nanostructures

After having established a successful measurement of wave functions in graphene quantum dots on metal substrates and a successful nanostructuring of graphene flakes on insulating substrates by local anodic oxidation using atomic force microscopy, we aim at a combination of both, allowing us to investigate exactly the same nanostructure by transport and within a low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope probing the corresponding wave functions. Special emphasis will be given to the role of defects and edges on the resulting wave functions as well as their evolution with charge carrier density and magnetic field in full compatibility with subsequent transport experiments.
