Project Details
Coordination project of the Research Unit "Nanoscale Processes and Geomaterials Properties"
Applicant
Professor Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich
Subject Area
Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry
Term
from 2010 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 22341081
The Research Group will be coordinated by the speaker, Prof. Heinrich affiliated to GFZ and coordinated from the side of the Austrian branch by Prof. Abart affiliated to UNIVIE and from the side of the Swiss branch by Prof. Grobety affiliated to UNIFRI. Communication within the individual project teams and bilateral communication among teams will be coordinated by the respective primary investigators. Collaboration with the external partners at University of Oslo, Ruhr-University Bochum, ESRF Grenoble, HASYLAB, Hamburg, ARL at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will, apart from making use of the standard electronic communication devices, require travelling on a regular basis. Funding is requested with the respective project proposals. The travelling activities of external partners will be coordinated by the speaker and funded through the speakers Research Unit budget. Continuing the tradition of FOR 741, plenary meetings are planned to be held every six months. These plenary meetings will be hosted by University of Vienna and by one of the participating institutions in Berlin/Potsdam in an alternating sequence. The plenary meetings will host both, workshops for members of the Research Group and invited guests and public lectures. The workshops will provide a platform for presentation and discussion of recent results amongst expert scientists. Public lectures will be given by members of the research group and by recognized researchers from outside.
