Modelling the contact and adhesion mechanisms of disperse systems is a fundamental need for the simulation of particle processes e.g. for specific development of facilities or for the adjustment of process conditions while treating and conditioning highly disperse powders. Aim of this project is the investigation of particle-particle-interactions in time dependent, oscillation induced particle contact in ultrasound agitated particle systems. The aim of the considerations is the mechanism based description of particle-particle-interactions in (ultra)sound agitated (and hence, gas induced oscillating) disperse systems and the resulting modelling and simulation of processes with dispersed phases. The particulate contact and binding mechanisms as well as their dynamic behaviour will be derived for various primary particle and agglomerate structures for defined process and environmental conditions. Besides the control of adequate acoustic parameters (frequency, intensity, a.o.), the adhesion relevant atmospheric parameters (e.g. humidity) may be set specifically to be able to parametrically describe the contact and adhesion mechanisms. The experimental investigations will be described by direct numerical simulation of the fluid and particle behaviour qualitatively as well as quantitatively.
