The project involves isotope analyses on the organic matter from lake sediments to reconstruct changes in lacustrine productivity, nutrient recycling, and characterising source area changes via δ13C, δ15N, C/N measurements on organic matter. This data, in conjunction with the microfacies and geochemical data generated in IP1 will provide information on causes and mechanisms of past climate changes.
