Project Details
Mechanisms controlling cell adhesion and motility in zebrafish stem cell proliferation zones (A01)
Subject Area
Developmental Biology
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987
Developmental stem cell niches provide a paradigm for cells leaving a tightly controlled adhesion environment to invade adjacent tissues. In A1 cell behavior in the dorsal thalamic neural proliferation zone will be studied by combining genetic approaches, live-imaging and single cell transcriptomics for identifying and studying the molecular control of adhesion and migration. Ultimately this project aims for understanding the transitions that stem cells undergo by leaving their niche to become migrating progenitors.
