Project Details
Phylogenomics and functional genomics of the Roseobacter clade (A06)
Subject Area
Metabolism, Biochemistry and Genetics of Microorganisms
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 34509606
This project will continue to investigate the phylogenomics and functional genomics of the Roseobacter group. The now considerably enlarged phylogenetic trees will be used to gain deeper insights into the evolution of genomic features and their ecological significance. They will more specifically be annotated by targeting particularly carbohydrate-active enzymes, sulfatases, peptidases, transporters and prophages. Further, established methods for phage phylogeny and classification will be augmented by genome annotation, and phylogenomic methods for bacteria improved by faster sequence similarity search.
