Final Report Abstract
FIB tomography proved to be a very powerful and interesting technique for the analysis of the as-produced laser dads for the different systems. However, there are several limitations such as the representative volume of the dads and moreover contrast issues within the subsequent slices. At some point, maybe the classical metallographic approach is less time consuming and finally also leads to a proper interpretation of the mechanisms. There are still open questions regarding the interrelation between the microstructure and corrosion resistance of the investigated specimens which could be continued in a further project.
