Final Report Abstract
In this project the design-unbiased estimators for modified adaptive cluster sampling with conditional plot extension designs were developed and their statistical performances were assessed and analyzed based on the concept of inclusion zone and jigsaw puzzle approach. The comparison shows that the adaptive designs are superior to the non-adaptive design, but only for geographically clustered populations. Their superiorities depend not only on the adaptive design factors including critical value, plots size factor (for option I), distance to the initial sample point (option II) and adaptive BAF (Bitterlich sampling), but also on the spatially arrangements and degrees of clustering of underlying populations.
