Subproject A1 (TP-A1) concerns itself with the development of novel visualization techniques for the analysis of high-resolution simulations and experimental data in the context of droplet dynamics. Both the detailed investigation of physical processes such as energy transport, behavior in collisions and mixing processes as well as the interactive visualization of large-scale simulations and the extrac-tion and analysis of experimental data are core areas of this research. Besides the work on general open questions in visualization research, TP-A1 provides substantial support for the other subprojects, particularly in the comparison of experimental results with simulations.
