This research project deals with the conception of new methods for a fast and efficient implementation of model-based approaches of drive engineering on FPGA platforms. The practical implementation of model-based methods presents an enormous challenge in drive technology. Especially the application of the particular benefits of FPGAs which are increasingly used in drive controllers receives little support at present. The solution is to optimally implement not the model-based methods themselves but their universally applicable components, the algorithms. In the first funding period already numerous representative models and model-based methods have been designed and analyzed via simulation. Further, they had been subdividedinto standardized algorithms and implementation rules for FPGA had been laborated. In a second funding period the development of an optimal implementation scheme for the algorithms which has already started will be continued. The implementation of a new control and practical investigations at the test station will verify the achieved results.
