Applicant
Professor Dr. Thomas Braun
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2009 to 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 158537337
One aim of this research project is the development of catalytic processes for the hydrogenolysis of Si-Si bonds at platinum complexes. In order to gain a better understanding of the catalytic mechanisms, conceivable intermediates will be synthesized by model studies, and the reactivity of these compounds will be investigated. In addition, it is envisaged to cleave Si-O bonds of alkoxydisilanes by hydrodealkoxylation, which will pave a way to SiH3, alkoxysilyl, and dialkoxysilyl building blocks, which can subsequently be utilized for Si-C coupling reactions.
