In this project we want to prepare functionalised natural photosynthetic lightharvestingcomplexes that can be tagged to a metal nanoparticle and organized on asubstrate. We then study how to control, manipulate, and optimise their function throughnanofabrication of different plasmonic structures. Such experiments provide valuableinformation about the underlying physical principles to manipulate the performance of naturalfunctional units and might play a guiding role for the exploitation of the natural systems asblueprints for the design of efficient artificial light-harvesting antennae.
