Project Details
Development of prognostic biomarkers using imaging of structural and metabolic heterogeneity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) (C06)
Subject Area
Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Radiobiology
Term
from 2009 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 68647618
Biomarker-based trial enrichment has so far not been implemented in PDAC. In the last funding period we developed a new PDAC classification system based on histological tumor cellularity and identified low baseline ADC values prognostic of poor overall survival. We will systematically continue and extrapolate this approach, hypothesizing that a close correlation of tumor biology (i.e. molecular, metabolic, physiologic data) and imaging data and complex statistical analyses of imaging data (i.e. machine learning) will improve the predictive value of imaging in PDAC.
