In vivo- and in vitro-investigation of the effects of artificial matrices on implant surfaces in long bones (B05)

Subject Area Orthopaedics, Traumatology, Reconstructive Surgery
Term from 2009 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 59307082

S. Rammelt and J. Pietzsch characterize bone healing in the microenvironment of implants using a novel combination of positron emission tomography/computer tomography (PET/CT) and optical imaging (OI). Furthermore, it will be studied whether the modulation of selected inflammatory and angiogenic processes leads to an acceleration of the healing process. In a translational approach, the influence of sGAG on the differentiation and mineralization of osteoblasts and osteoclasts from patients with impaired bone regeneration will be determined.
