Impact of artificial extracellular matrix on fibroblast functions (B04)

Subject Area Dermatology
Term from 2009 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 59307082

U. Anderegg and A. Saalbach intend to scavenge excess of TGF-β1 by sHA GAG derivatives and test them in the model of bleomycin-induced skin fibrosis. On the other hand, they plan to provide exogenous TGF-β1 using heparin-containing aECM to conditions of TGF-β1 deficiency i.e. delayed wound healing in db/db mice. Finally, sHA-containing hydrogels loaded with heparin-binding epidermal growth factor (HB-EGF) – will be used to study epidermal proliferation and dermal remodeling in db/db mice and the ex vivo pig skin model.
