Aim of this project is the research on a Self-energising Electro-Hydraulic Brake (SEHB) with nonlinear control concept and the development of adaptive valve controls with respect to the criteria brake dynamics, brake comfort, and brake wear.In this application for the second funding period friction torque variations are minimised. They occur as a consequence of friction coefficient variations und influence comfort, dynamics, and wear. At first, relevant influencing factors on the development of friction torque variations will be determined by literature research and test rig experiments. In a next step measures will be developed to make use of the feedback of the friction torque in order to damp the originating mechanisms of the friction torque variations. The developed passive and active measures, like optimisation of the clamping stiffness and a controller with online-parameter estimation, will be validated at the available brake test rig. Thereby, it is sought to prolong the brake disc lifetime. This should be achieved by the minimisation of the friction torque variations. Due to the existing measurement of the brake torque and the possibility to influence the clamping force, this potential can particularly be harnessed by the SEHB.
