Project Details
Analysis of load history dependent evolution of damage and microstructure for the numerical design of sheet - bulk metal forming processes (C04)
Subject Area
Engineering Design, Machine Elements, Product Development
Term
from 2009 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 68237143
The mechanical properties of parts manufactured by sheet–bulk metal forming are predicted by means of finite-element simulations. In particular, the strain-rate-dependent material behaviour during dynamic loading is considered. Material models, which take into account the influence of the load history on hardening and damage, will be applied and enhanced. Electron microscopy and a modified resonance method are employed to determine local properties in the manufactured parts such as stiffness and damage.
