Project Details
Prediction of eigenstresses and fatigue strength of sheet bulk metal forming parts (C02)
Subject Area

Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 68237143
During sheet bulk metal forming in dual phase steels eigenstresses occur within the microstructure due to the anisotropy and the stochastic orientation of the grains and due to the different plastic flow properties of martensite and ferrite. These eigenstresses need to be considered in the macro material model as a function which is superposed to the stresses within the yield function. In addition, for cyclic loads the crack propagation within the microstructure and the related fatigue strength of the material will be computed. To achieve high efficiency for the simulations of large numbers of load cycles modern algorithms like the wavelet based WATMUS algorithm will be embedded.
