Forming of complex functional elements on sheet metal (A02)

In order to further increase the functionality of SBMF parts this project investigates the extrusion of geometrically dissimilar shape elements on different part diameters. Due to the identified process limitations in phase II, the material flow as well as the tool stresses are investigated in detail. Both aspects are analysed by means of FE-simulations and experiments in order to identify basic process mechanisms. Based on the gained results, approaches will be derived with the aim to enhance the current process limits.
