The integrated research training group of the Collaborative Research Centres (CRC) will offer a structured education of doctoral candidates in the field of redox regulation. Besides the redox topic the curriculum also covers general aspects of signal transduction using oxygen, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS), the physiological function of redox signaling and the pathophysiological aspects within the clinical areas covered by the CRC projects. The combined education of medical MD- and natural/life science-PhD students provides an early interconnection of basic research and clinical aspects and promotes an increased awareness of translation research.
